Jose L Piedra Petit Cetros – Remedios is the oldest tobacco growing region in Cuba and a Protected Denomination of Origin. The soil and climate of the region produce tobacco with a distinctive character and flavour. Today Jose L. Piedra has the exclusive use of this unique tobacco for its cigars. The flavours are often described as, spicy robust, dense and tangy.

They may be a little more roguish charm than silver tongued eloquence in this blend but, as with the

best Burgundian table wines, they are lively, full of character and captivate the attention from the first

taste.

José L. Piedra stands out as a remarkable Havana, not only due to its blend of filler tobaccos exclusively cultivated in the Remedios tobacco region but also because it employs the ‘totalmente a mano, tripa corta’ or ‘totally handmade, short filler’ technique.

In the 1880s, the Piedra family migrated to Cuba from the Spanish province of Asturias, settling near the town of Santa Clara at the heart of the Remedios region, renowned for tobacco cultivation since the 16th Century. They initiated cigar production, and the brand was founded and developed by the second generation led by José Lamadrid Piedra, whose legacy is commemorated today.

Furthermore, All sizes of José L. Piedra cigars are crafted using the traditional ‘tripa corta, totalmente a mano’ – short filler, totally handmade technique, using Remedios tobaccos.
