For this cigar for the darker hours of the day, Davidoff selected a shiny and oily Ecuador wrapper in a beautiful dark chocolate colour. The two Nicaraguan filler tobaccos grown in the mineral-rich volcanic soils of Condega and Estelí add spiciness and depth of character to the cigars. Especially the Nicaraguan Condega visus tobacco, which was cask-aged in original Scottish first fill single malt whisky casks gives the cigar its mysterious sweetness. An intense multi-origin blend with a full body and robust flavours. The Petit Panetela delights with that same signature complexity in taste as the long-fillers of the line.

Story behind the cigar

Sir Winston Churchill was a man of many talents and facets. From morning to the early hours of the next morning, the powers of the great man never paused. Even when the lights went down, he continued to inspire those around him. It was then, after a full day as a political leader of an empire, a great negotiator at dinner tables as well as conferences, that he wrote his famous speeches and books – often while enjoying a cigar. Davidoff translated Sir Winston’s multifaceted character into a multi-origin cigar ideal for after hours. The medium-filler Petit Panetela offers aficionados an opportunity for a shorter enjoyment of the blend they have grown to love with flavours of oak wood, leather and fresh spice.

About Davidoff Cigars

Iconic Zino Davidoff created the Davidoff brand, starting cigar production in Cuba around 1969. During the 1970s, the brand gained global acclaim as cigar shops worldwide opened to showcase the meticulously crafted range produced in the newly established “El Laguito” factory in Havana. The brand experienced remarkable success during this period.

However, in 1991, a significant shift occurred as the production of all Cuban Davidoff cigars came to a halt, prompting a transition to the Dominican Republic.

Today, every Davidoff cigar is handcrafted in the company’s cigar factory in the Dominican Republic under the guidance of master blender Hendrik “Henke” Kelner. Core Davidoff cigars, which include lines such as Millenium, Grand Cru, Signature and Aniversario, are often referred to by smokers as “white label” due to the bands that adorn each cigar. In 2013, Davidoff expanded to Nicragua with Davidoff Nicaragua, later adding Yamasá and Escurio.

Each of these cigars is crafted using tobaccos derived from five different blends. Furthermore, each blend is aged for a minimum of four years to bestow a smooth, refined, and distinctive flavour.
