CAO Pilon Robusto- Single Cigar

When the CAO blending team embarked on crafting this new cigar for the CAO Pilon Series, they opted for a fermentation technique reminiscent of old-world Cuba—the round pilón. With roots tracing back to the 19th century, a pilón involves intricately arranging tobacco leaves in small configurations. This age-old process of natural fermentation is instrumental in maximizing the flavor and color of the leaves, resulting in a taste and appearance that surpasses what can be achieved through alternative methods.

Although the practice of pilón fermentation was abandoned nearly half a century ago in favor of less time-consuming methods, CAO deliberately chose to revive this approach due to its unparalleled impact on flavor. Moreover, it contributes to the reduction of ammonia and sugar content in the wrapper leaf, enhancing burn quality and combustibility.
