VAT at 20% is inclusive on all orders delivered to countries within the EEC, all other destinations are exempt from VAT.
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order. Please note the minimum order is £7.50.
Shipping And Handling
We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.
We accept Visa and Mastercard. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.
The shipping costs will be confirmed before checkout but here is a rough idea of shipping costs.
Standard - Betweeen £4.00 and £10.00* 1st Class Postage (Uninsured - non traceable service)
Insured (upto £500) - Between £8.00 and £15.00** Signed for, (Special Delivery. - traceable service)
* please note all orders, WITHIN the UK, over £150.00 will be shipped free of charge.
Standard - Between £3.20 and £10.00 1st Class Postage (Uninsured - non traceable service)
Insured (upto £500) - Between £10.80 and £40.00** Signed for International, (Special Delivery. - traceable service)
Rest of World
Standard - Between £2.60 and £53.00 1st Class Postage (Unisured - non traceable service)
Insured (upto £500) - Between £7.60 and £63.00** Signed for International (Special Delivery. - traceable service)
* Orders that require special next day delivery must be placed before 2pm to ensure the next delivery option is available.
**PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU DO NOT CHOOSE THE INSURED OPTION, WE WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS IN TRANSIT.
We will normally send your order to you in 2 business days . International orders are generally received in under 7 days. Orders despatched via DHL are delivered next day in the UK and 2-3 days for the rest of the world. We can't be held responsible for delays caused by customs clearing.
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20% VAT is inclusive. All other orders are VAT free and you should click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero .
Credit Card Security
We cannot be held responsible for duties and taxes charged to the customer upon delivery. It is up to the customer when ordering to check that goods are not prohibited in their country and we will not be held responsible for any confiscations. If in doubt, please contact your local excise / customs office.
We use Sellerdeck Payments as our online payment service provider. Sellerdeck is powered by CreditCall, a robust and reliable infastructure. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

If the items you receive are faulty or you have simply changed your mind about any item ordered and you wish to return it, then in line with the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR) you can do so provided you inform us of your decision within 7 days of receipt. The item must not be used and must be 'as new' when returned to us. Once you've informed us that you wish to return goods under the DSR, you have 28 calendar days to do so, at your own expense. Once the item is received at J.N. Barber Ltd. , we'll issue a full refund for the product to your original payment method.
Goods may only be returned with permision from ourselves. Please contact us for shipping instructions. Any item returned without consent from ourselves will not be accepted.
If you do not inform us within 7 days of receipt that you have decided to return goods which are not faulty, you will be charged a 2% re-stocking fee and postage will not be refunded.
Lighter Sales Outside of UK
We would like to apologize to all our customers outside of the United Kingdom. We have recently experienced problems when shipping lighters abroad. Due to this we are currently unable to ship lighters outside of the United Kingdom.
